Writing a how-to guide

To write an effective and well-structured how-to guide, you should follow these steps:
1. Think of your title. Tell everyone what this guide is for.
2. Create the sequence. Make a list of all the steps needed to complete the task. Next, put the steps in order, from beginning to end.
3. Create clear, active headings. Each step should begin with a clear heading to explain what the readers should do. Remember to use imperatives for headings.
4. Explain each step in more detail. Under your headings, provide extra information to explain the steps if you need to. You should write clearly and use short, active sentences and bullet points.
5. Create a conclusion. Tell everyone what they can now do after following all the steps.
