Dr. Thịnh Hoàng is a computer scientist and an expert on Al. He’s also the author of a new book title Will Al Take Over My Job? I interviewed hom about which types of jobs might be affected by Al.

Which kinds of jobs will be replaced completely by Al? Well, dangerous and boring jobs are at great risk of being mace obsolete by Al. A firefighter, for example, is such a dangerous job that Al will have to take over in the future. Al always provides logical solutions, even in very stressful situations. It’s perfect for knowing the quickest way to put out a fire. In addition, basic jobs are often performed slowly by humans are also at risk. Data entry, for example, is so tedious that Al will replace it.

Which jobs won’t be affected by Al? Some jobs need skills that only humans have. Al car certainly sound happy and polite when it speaks, so it’s food for simple jobs like customer service. A counselor, however, is such a sensitive job that Al won’t be used since it doesn’t have the right soft skills for that kind of work.

Will Al be used in various ways in other jobs? Yes, I think so. Becoming a doctor, for example, is so complicated that it takes a human years of studying to remember some information. AL is good for tasks that need access to information, like giving medical advice to a patient. However, doctors need more than just intelligence. They sometimes need human emotions to deal with sensitive issues concerning patients’ health. Al doesn’t have human emotions, so it won’t fully take over medical work.
